Ron Kotinsky and his friends figured Sat., July 12 would be a great day for crabbing with the tide rising in Pawleys Island. The group traveled from Litchfield to the North Causeway in Pawleys Island and threw out their nets. Thinking the nets had been in the water long enough to yield a good catch, they reeled them in to find a small hammerhead shark. “I never expected to see that shark when we hoisted up those nets I tell you,” exclaimed Kotinsky. It might not have been what they were expecting, but an interesting catch none the less. Kotinsky said they didn’t catch as many crabs as they had hoped for, but the shark turned the trip into a great fishing story!
