Leadership class accepting applications

  • Wednesday, July 16, 2014

The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for Leadership Georgetown County’s 2014-2015 class.

Leadership Georgetown County provides leadership training and professional development through interaction with community leaders, experiential learning and network building opportunities for participants.

Businesses are encouraged to send employees through the program; individuals may also apply on their own.

The application deadline is July 31.

Program participants will attend an overnight retreat in September followed by eight full day sessions between October 2014 and May 2015. Each class will focus on specific areas such as history, education, tourism, health care and much more. The class also will select and complete a service project.

Throughout the program participants are exposed to community and civic leaders who offer subject-matter expertise as well as how individual and group leaders can make a positive impact on the community. Alumni of the program go on to serve on nonprofit boards, run for public office and otherwise step into leadership roles in the interest of making Georgetown County a great place to live and work.
