Carr is new executive director

The Georgetown County Alcohol & Drug Abuse Commission Board of Directors has hired Raphael Carr as the new executive director.

Carr is a 1994 graduate of Erskine College and a senior certified prevention professional. Raphael was employed with Georgetown County Alcohol & Drug Abuse Commission as the prevention coordinator prior to being named the executive director.

Raphael has worked in the not- for-profit field since 1996 and has 13 years of experience in the substance abuse field. Raphael has seven years of experience serving on a statewide board (SCAPPA) which focuses in substance abuse prevention certification and advocacy.

He has also served as a board member for the A Fatherís place program since 2003. Carr is a lifelong resident in the Burgess community where he still resides with his three children and wife of 14 years. The GADAC board of directors are as listed Victor Lance, chairman, Diane Buncamper, secretary, Idella Bradford and Pat Gilliard.
