Plantation paddle offered

Hampton Plantation State Historic Site and Nature Adventures Outfitters are offering a paddle at the former rice plantation on Sat., July 12.

Cool off in the shade of the giant live oak trees at the plantation and along the banks of Wambaw Creek. Discover rich cultural history with rice gate trunks and hand dug canals along the way. The paddling will be led by certified canoe and kayak instructors and a naturalist from Nature Adventures Outfitters Inc.

Afterwards, make your way to Hampton Plantation for lunch and a Ranger guided tour of the plantation house.
