Georgetown win Dixie Minors championship

Georgetown’s 9- and 10-year-old All-Stars won the Dixie Youth Minors Subdistrict Championship on June 28 in Pleasant Hill.

Blake Wall pitched a 13-0 shutout to give Georgetown the victory over Pleasant Hill.

Georgetown got to the championship game by beating Waccamaw 9-8 on June 27.

John Henry Sasser got the start for Georgetown, Britt Mercer got the win, and Christian Davis got the save.

Georgetown opened the tournament with a 13-11 loss to Andrews and a 20-0 win over Pee Dee.

Georgetown then had to beat Andrews 10-2 to advance to the semi-finals against Waccamaw.

Sasser got the win.
