Tropical impacts expected Thursday

From the National Hurricane Center:

At 5 a.m., the center of Tropical Depression One was located near latitude 27.6 north...longitude 79.3 west. The depression is moving toward the west near 2 mph...4 km/h. A turn toward the northwest and then toward the north is forecast by Wednesday. On the forecast track...the center of the tropical cyclone is expected to remain offshore and move east of the

east-central coast of Florida during the next day or so. The system is forecast to pass east of northeastern Florida on Wednesday and Wednesday night.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph...55 km/h...with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours...and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm

later today.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb...29.77 inches.
