The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine Foundation offers Caritas Grant funds to be awarded to non-profit and faith-based organizations meeting the immediate needs of the poor in South Carolina.
The Caritas Grants program purpose is to provide support to organizations dealing with situational poverty or crisis poverty.
Caritas Grant awards will be up to $5,000 for a one-year period.
Local Caritas Grantees:
Classy Smiles – ($2,500) Delivering direct dental services to uninsured children in need.
Friendship Place – ($5,000) Feeding the hungry daily with hot meals and bagged lunches.
Grace Ministries – ($5,000) Providing transportation services to individuals who are home-bound due to age, chronic illness, or disability.
Helping Hands of Georgetown – ($3,000) An emergency food pantry for the poor.
Georgetown County School District-Kensington Elementary School – ($3,000) Providing assistance to needy students and their families during the holidays.
M.K. Inc. – ($2,500) An after school feeding program for at-risk kids.
St. Christopher’s Children – ($2,000) Providing basic clothing to needy children.
