The Cultural Council of Georgetown County is pleased to present “Night of the Rising Stars,” a free concert featuring the talented winners of the organization’s Young Treasures Scholarship Competition.
The event will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 17 at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church, located at 113 Baskerville Dr. in Pawleys Island.
The church is located just off Ocean Highway, between Litchfield and Pawleys Island.
Each year, the Cultural Council awards several youth musicians and artists with funds for private lessons.
This year, ten of the fourteen music scholars will perform.
The event is free, with a suggested donation of $10 per person going toward the scholarship program.
Funds for this program come from donations received from individuals and other arts-minded organizations throughout the community.
The Cultural Council is still seeking funds for sixteen scholarship it would like to award for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Named scholarship begin at $500, and any amount contributed will make a difference in the life of an area youth pursuing the arts.
