Investigators hoping photo helps identify Murrells Inlet robbery suspect

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office has released a surveillance camera photo of a man who allegedly robbed Not 2 Shabby in Murrells Inlet

It happened at around 11:30 p.m. on May 2.

The female victim told police that she was walking from her vehicle in the parking lot when she saw a vehicle pull into the lot and pull in by Backyard Birds. She entered her business but did not lock the door behind her.

While placing the boxes on the counter she heard the door buzzer behind her, indicating someone was entering the business. She saw a black male with a bandana over part of his face, armed with an automatic handgun.

The victim told police the man repeatedly asked “where it at, where it at,” while pointing the gun at her. According tot he incident report she told the man there was no cash in the register but the man told her “you’d better give it up or I’ll pop you.”

The man demanded she give him her pocketbook and then told her to go into the back room. The victim told police she believed the man was going to follow her into the back room and kill her. When she entered the room she heard the door buzzer again. She went into the front of the store and grabbed her phone and called 911.

While on scene, the deputies were informed the complainant’s credit card was attempted at the Kangaroo on Ocean Highway. and Waverly Rd.

The suspect is believed to have been driving a gold in color Impala. He is described as a black male, approximately 6’00” in height, wearing a black

or blue bandana.
