Monday night, June 16, the Oceanfront Merchants Association and One Voice Productions will sponsor “Wipe-Out Bullying” an evening-long concert featuring young musicians from West Virginia with an important message about the harmful effects of bullying.

During the summer months, June through August, the Oceanfront Merchants Association sponsors Kid’s Carnival Nights every Monday in Plyler Park beginning at 7 p.m.

Kids will enjoy the fun that the Monday night events always bring including inflatables, bounce houses, face painters and stilt walkers, but on June 16 the crowd will also be treated to special music with a message.

Bullying, one of this country’s most pressing problems among youth 18 and under, can cause devastating consequences.

Today, bullying prevention is foremost on the minds of parents, teachers, counselors, and law enforcement.

The West Virginia performers, all between the ages of eight and 15, want to help spread an anti-bullying message by educating other youth through their music.

Families are invited to get in on the message while enjoying a summer evening along the Myrtle Beach oceanfront. The Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Merchants Association is a grass-roots organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the downtown heart of Myrtle Beach.
