Apology to Patel

  • Wednesday, June 11, 2014

To the Editor:

I met with Andrews councilmember Patel last week and personally apologized for the vote to shut down her tape recorder. She was within her rights to tape the proceedings in accordance with the FOI.

I also pointed out that she is a member of a council team and a little courtesy of her intentions would go a long way in reducing some of the distrust within the council.

In reference to the editorial, I take exception to three words in the editorial: “Even In Andrews.”

I don’t know what that means and the editor has not been here long enough to make judgements obviously based on years’ old gossip and not on current information.

I am thankful for the Times local reporter, Barbara Gengler who strives to be accurate and fair.

David M. Tisdale

Andrews Town Councilmember
