Georgetown police looking for man who robbed Kangarooo store

Kangaroo robbery suspect

A man who robbed a Georgetown convenience store this morning is on the run and police are asking for help in finding him. Police Capt. Nelson Brown said the robbery happened at 2:53 a.m. at the Kangaroo store located at 2602 Highmarket Street. He said the suspect presented a knife and demanded money. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.
"The suspect is described as a black male in his mid 40's, 5'9" to 5'10" tall and 200 to 220 pounds," Brown said. Anyone with information on this individual is asked to call the Georgetown Police Department at 545-4300.
