County clerk honored for service

Clayton Stairs/South Strand News Beth Piatt, a clerk in the Georgetown County Auditor’s Office, was nominated by Auditor Brian Shult and was selected as recipient of the “Employee of the Quarter, First Quarter 2014” award. Piatt has been employed with the county for eight years. Her duties include assessing values to personal property for the purpose of generating annual tax bills, researching personal property for the purpose of determining whether it is taxable, working with taxpayers on a daily basis, and working closely with the Assessor’s and Treasurer’s offices. Greg Troutman director of human resources for the county, stands with Piatt, Shult and Council Chairman Johnny Morant.
