Jacob Henry Monte Jr., age 86, of Georgetown
Stella Gore Jacobs, age 89, widow of Noah E. Jacobs, passed away on Fri., May 23, 2014 at Hospice by the Sea in Pompano Beach, FL.
Born on May 22, 1925, in Pireway, NC, she was a daughter of the late John Robert Gore and the late Winnie M. Hardee Gore.
Mrs. Jacobs was a member of Screven Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 48 years and was a member of the Deborah Sunday School class.
Survivors include her son, Robert Edward Jacobs of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; special friends, Levon and Daisy Miller of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Fri., May 30, 2014 at Screven Baptist Church, with Rev. Jason Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Screven Baptist Church.

Janie Norris Martin, age 78, wife of 59 years to M.H. Martin, passed away on Tues., May 27, 2014 at Tideland’s Hospice House.
Mrs. Martin was born in Conway, a daughter of the late John William and Fannie Bertie Lewis Norris.
She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and shopping.
She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church where she attended the Violet Long Sunday School Class.
Prior to her illness, Mrs. Martin was employed by the Rural Water District of Georgetown.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Ricky Martin and his wife, Debbie, of Georgetown, Sharon M. Brown of Pawleys Island; her grandchildren, Marie Martin Philipp (Drew) of Greenwood, Christopher Brown (Ava) of Pawleys Island, Mandy Martin of Charleston, Brook Brown of Pawleys Island, Nicholas Brown of Georgetown, Travis Brown(Amber) of Georgetown; great-grandchildren, Spencer Brown and Seven Doutt of Pawleys Island, Emma Grace Brown of Georgetown; her sisters, Ruby Coleman(Maxcy) of Georgetown, Betty Causey(John) of Georgetown, Dock P. Norris(Estelle) of Conway; special nephew, Patrick Causey of Georgetown, special niece, Patty Cumbee(Larry); and other numerous extended family.
A celebration of life was held at 3 p.m. on Thurs., May 29, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Georgetown, with Dr. Ted Sherrill and Rev. Larry Deeter officiating.
Entombment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family received friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Parlor of First Baptist Church of Georgetown prior to the funeral service.

Bob Shelly White, age 63, died in Brooklyn, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Mon., June 2, 2014 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel conducted by Rev. Joe Canteen.
Viewing will take place on Monday from noon until the time of service.
Mr. White was born on Sept. 23, 1950 in Georgetown, a son of Joe White and Mrs. Frances Simmons White.
His father and a sister, Mary Elizabeth White, predeceased him.
Bob graduated from Howard High School and shortly thereafter, moved to New York.
Surviving are his children Neil, Dewayne and Bob White; his mother, Frances White and siblings, Gloria White Williams, Joe Lee White and Billy White.

Zaleane B. Wilson, age 73, of Georgetown, died on May 27, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sat., May 31, 2014 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Pawleys Island, SC, where Rev. Jerome Smalls is pastor. Visitation will take place on Saturday in the sanctuary of the church from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. Wilson was born on August 5, 1940 in Georgetown. She attended the public schools of Georgetown County and for several years afterwards, worked for the Georgetown County Recycling Plant.
She was married to Nathaniel Wilson.
Surviving are: five sons, Robert Johnson, Rockford, IL, Daniel Johnson, Detroit, MI, Carleton Knox, Albany, GA, Marvin Knox, Georgetown, SC; three daughters, Mrs. Michelle Scott, Marietta, GA, Mrs. Beverly Blake, Goose Creek, SC, Ms. Pamela Knox, Georgetown, SC.
