Learn to overcome complications of overweight

The medical complications of overweight and what can be done about them is the topic of two free events for the public Tuesday, June 3, in Murrells Inlet.

At noon, Dr. John Orchard, a gastroenterologist with Waccamaw Gastroenterology, will speak at a physician seminar at Wachesaw Conference Center across from Waccamaw Community Hospital. Sponsored by Georgetown Hospital System, the seminar will last about an hour and include opportunities for participants to ask questions.

Immediately after the seminar, A GHS dietitian will hold an information session on NuMed, a new nutrition and medical weight management program being offered by GHS.

Interested persons can attend one or both of the sessions, but must call if they plan to attend the noon seminar. No advance registration is requires for the 1 p.m. information session. Wachesaw Conference Center is located at 4367 Riverwood Dr.
