The YMCA/USA Wahoos are back in action for the spring and summer swim schedule.

The team took 26 swimmers to Hartsville on May 17 and brought home the title.

Georgetown’s 402 points beat Hartsville (320), Beaufort (272) Newberry (215), and Sumter (185).

Dedication and practicing hard is paying off as the kids continue to cut times in the meets.

John Grey Crosby and Chrissie Wall placed first in all of their individual events. Hannan Mackey and Michael Paglio placed first in three of their individual events.

Hurley Cribb and Edwin Lopez placed first in two individual events.

Catherine Condon, Peyton Little, Mia Paglio, and Reynolds Tiller all finished first in one of their individual events.

Other swimmers also placing in the top three in individual events were: Kelsey Campbell, Abigail Condon, Covey Loftus, Briar Long, Finn Long, Rowan Pelham, Allen Poston, Caroline Resetar, Hunter Shull.

The following relay teams took first place in their perspective age groups: 18 and under girls (Little, Mackey, Wall, and Condon); 14 and under boys (Crosby, Cribb, Paglio, and Shull); 12 and under boys (Loftus, Lopez, Poston, and Bonham); 10 and under girls (Anna Margaret Loftus, Campbell, Tiller, and Paglio).

Some of the Wahoos will be attending the 2014 USA Carolina Aquatics May Breakout this week.

In June the Wahoos will be traveling to Beaufort and Columbia, and will be hosting a meet at the Georgetown YMCA on June 28.

The Wahoos are always looking for new swimmers. For more information on joining the team or taking swim lessons contact the YMCA at 843-545-9622 or www.coastalcarolinaymca.org.
