In support of Anderson

To the Editor:

I support reelection of Georgetown County Councilman Bob Anderson because of his focus on public safety.

He understands that the first priority of government should be to protect lives.

Bob has worked hard to ensure that our fire fighters, law enforcement officers, and emergency medical responders are well trained and equipped. When it was obvious that pay levels for our public safety providers was out of step with other area jurisdictions, Bob led the charge to pay these brave men and women more.

Bob Anderson is one of the very few elected officials in the state to be trained by FEMA as an emergency operations manager in the event of a natural disaster such as a hurricane. He was not required to take the week-long training. He did it because he genuinely cares about the safety of his constituents.

We need Bob Andersonís continued leadership on public safety. I urge his reelection in the June 10th Republican Primary.
