Workouts for the girls softball team at Georgetown High School just got better, thanks to HealthPoint Center for Health & Fitness.
HealthPoint recently donated eight pieces of resistance training equipment to the high school’s athletic department, which has put the equipment in an exercise area dedicated to the team.
Head softball coach Whitney Ramsing, in her first year at Georgetown High School, said she is thrilled to have her own dedicated weight training room for her players.
“Allowing our young female athletes to exercise in their own facility will tremendously impact our softball program,” Ramsing said.
The equipment donation is one of several that HealthPoint, which is part of Georgetown Hospital System, has made to area high schools in recent years.
“At HealthPoint we welcome the opportunity to support our local high schools,” said Kevin Conlon, HealthPoint’s director. “We understand the link between mind and body, and by donating this equipment to schools, we hope we can have some small role in helping schools develop the next generation of student athletes.”
