Memorial Day closings

In observance of the Memorial Day Holiday, there will be no sanitation services on Monday, May 26. Customers who normally receive residential collections on Mondays should not place roll-out containers on curbside on Monday, May 26. Residential collection will resume regular routes on Tuesday, May 27.

Government offices

Georgetown County government offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.

Coast RTA

In observance of Memorial Day, the administrative offices of Coast RTA, located in Conway, will be closed on Monday, May 26. The administrative staff will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 27. In addition to the administrative observance, modifications have been made to the following routes to account for traffic congestion due to Memorial Day weekend traffic: Routes 15 North,15 South, 16 (Georgetown-Myrtle Beach),16 Express (Georgetown-Myrtle Beach) and 21 (Myrtle Beach Entertainment Express) service lines.

Traffic congestion along Ocean Boulevard will affect these routes beginning Friday, May 23 and continuing through Monday, May 26. Congestion also affected these routes during the Harley Davidson Bike Rally.

Passengers with destinations along the affected routes will need to access and de-board the bus along Kings Highway instead of Ocean Boulevard. Notification will be distributed along the affected routes.

Coast RTA will resume normal service on Tuesday, May 27. Questions or concerns may be directed to 843-488-0865.

DMV

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of the Memorial Day state holiday.

Please remember that the days before and after a holiday are often extremely busy at DMV. Customers may want to choose another time to visit their local DMV office or process their transactions online at the agency website at www.scdmvonline.com.

Georgetown Times

The offices of the Georgetown Times, Waccamaw Tines and Inlet Outlook will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.
