Shirley Griffin, age 63, of Georgetown
Annie Elizabeth Ford Coleman, age 92, of Georgetown died on Thurs., May 8, 2014 while a patient at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sat., May 17, 2014 at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alphonso N. Scott, pastor, with burial following at the church cemetery.
A wake was held at 7 p.m. on Thurs., May 15, 2014 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
Mrs. Coleman was born on March 8, 1922 in Georgetown, a daughter of Albert Ford and Rebecca Goings Ford.
She was married to Robert Coleman on May 25, 1955.
Mrs. Coleman was a longtime member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, and for years worked as a housekeeper in various hotels and private homes.
She is survived by five daughters, Orine Wilson of Georgetown, Sylvia Meza of Loris, Verda Coleman Rutledge, Shirl Baker and Faye Coleman, all of Milwaukee, WI; two sons, James Paige of Bronx, NY and Melvin Coleman of Augusta, GA.
Funeral service arrangements are entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
Ethan Jordan Grate, age 1, of Fayetteville, NC, died on May 10, 2014 while a patient at Cape Valley Hospital in Cumberland County, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Lighthouse of Jesus Christ, conducted by Bishop Dr. Floyd A. Knowlin, pastor, with burial following at the church cemetery.
Ethan was born on June 1, 2012, the infant son of Whitney R. Grate (formerly of Georgetown) and Edward West.
Although he was in our lives for just a short time, he brought much laughter and love. And for that he has imprinted the hearts of all and will never be forgotten.
The following remain to cherish precious memories of this warm and loving spirit, his mother, Whitney R. Grate of Fayetteville and father, Edward R. West of Riceboro, GA; maternal grandmother, Sonia Grate of Fayetteville; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Maxine Geathers of Georgetown; grand-aunts, Jennifer M. Lawrence (Demond) of Georgetown, Schmella T. Geathers of Apex, NC, and Ms. Nicole S. Geathers of Georgetown.

Sherwood Maner Miller, age 82, of Andrews, the widower of Joann Fore Miller, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Miller was born the son of Sherwood Lyles Miller and Elizabeth Inabinet Miller on Oct. 31, 1931 in Florence.
He was a United States Marine veteran. He attended the Victory Christian Fellowship Church.
He leaves behind three children, Rona M. (Deleon) Jacobs, Michael S. (Teena) Miller, and Mitchell M. (Ahna) Miller; three grandchildren, Sabrina (Jay) High, Alex Miller, and Kyle (Samantha) Goins; and five great-grandchildren, Paisley, Reyna, Malachi, Madison and Morgan.
He also leaves behind a brother, Lyles Felder “Cuda” (Kate) Miller; and two sisters, Mildred Rebecca “Bec” (Marty) Hooper and Mary “Molly” Porter.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Ellen Louise “Weese” Layton.
A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., May 15, 2014 at the Victory Christian Fellowship Church, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
The Miller family received family and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wed., May 14, 2014 at his sister’s home, Molly Porter, 3741 Georgetown Highway, Andrews, SC 29510.
McKenzie Funeral Home was honored to serve the Miller family.
Godfrey Alexander Traill, age 75, of Georgetown, died on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Prince George Healthcare Facility.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Fri., May 16, 2014 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel conducted by Minister Howard Rolle.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1938 in Spanish Town Jamaica, West Indies, the only son of Ethyle Dinham and Gurgo Traill.
His education was received in the public schools of Jamaica and in the early 1970’s he migrated to the United States.
In 2004, Mr. Traill moved to Georgetown. By profession he was a skilled serviceman for gas ranges.
He was married to the former Delores Pusey Brown.
He is survived by three daughters, Angela Cordell of Georgetown, Althea Chen and Andrea Traill, both of Jamaica, West Indies; three sons, Arthur Traill of Georgetown, and Alrick Traill and Horace Trail, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
