Leonard Michael Johns, age 58, of Surfside Beach passed away on May 10, 2014.
Leonard served in the U.S. Army and was a general manager at an Italian restaurant.
He leaves behind his mother, Peggy Cooper of Surfside Beach; brother, Ronnie Johns of Midland, NC; sisters, Sharron Smithwick and Shelia Johns, both of Surfside Beach; Nieces, Ashley Ferrell of Surfside, Kayla Ferrell and Lilyauna Ferrell of Grove, Oklahoma and a nephew, Johnny Ferrell of Grove, OK, and Jessy Smithwick and Maxx Smithwick of Surfside Beach.

A service will held at a later date.
Edward S. “Ed” Lazarz, age 77, of Murrells Inlet passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Garden City.
Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.

Willie Elwood Powell, age 75, of Andrews, loving husband and father, made his journey from Earth to Heaven on Wed., May 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by family.
Mr. Powell was born the son of Willard and Sadie Britt Powell on Nov. 22, 1938.
He was devoted to his God, family, church, and community. He loved the outdoors and was a business owner in the timber and construction industry for over 50 years.
Mr. Powell is survived by his best friend and wife of 55 years, Harriett Walters Powell.
He was the father of Melinda (Gary) Nettles, Terri (Mark) Smith, Gregg (Mandy) Powell, Sharon (Frankie) Thornell, and Tammie (Brad) Davis.
Mr. Powell’s family was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Ginnifer Nettles (Kevin) Johnson, Garrick Nettles, Bradley Davis, Toni Smith, Lori Smith, Pete Davis, Brooke Thornell, Faith Lambert, Breanna Thornell, Mikayla Davis, Shaune Powell, and Tyler Powell.
He is also survived by two brothers; three sisters; and numerous beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 500 Pamplico Highway, Suite D, Florence, SC 29505.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Fri., May 16, 2014 at Happy Home FWB Church, 56 Big Dam Swamp Dr., Andrews, SC.
A Home Going Celebration will be held at 3 p.m. on Sat., May 17, 2014 at Happy Home FWB Church, directed by Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
