Chicken Bog: Murrells Inlet Masonic Lodge #368 will be having a chicken bog fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Inlet Affairs across from Drunken Jacks on restaurant row. $7 per plate eat-in or take-out. For information call Dick Trythall 843-215-8352.

ladies conference: Maryville PH Church women’s ministries will be having a ladies conference, “Warrior ... Equipped,” May 16 at 7 p.m. and May 17 at 10 a.m. For information call Lisa Altman 843-543-4346.

concert: Popular area duo pianists Jackie o’Neill and Gretchen Downer will present a concert from 7 to 9 p.m. at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church in Pawleys Island. Tickets are $12.50 and include refreshments. Tickets may be purchased at the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library.

doll exhibition: A special exhibitionion of rare dolls, one of the nation’s largest collections of African American dolls will be on exhibit May 16 to June 30 at the Georgetown County Museum, 120 Broad St., Georgetown.

Handle with care: Education Center on the Georgetown Memorial Hospital campus from 9 to 11 a.m. Class is free; pre-registration is required. To register call 652-1640.

BREASTFEEDING: Taught by a certified lactation consultant, will be held at the Education Center located on the Georgetown Memorial Hospital campus from noon to 2 p.m. Class is free; pre-registration required, call 520-8490 or self register via the hospital’s website.

car wash: Team three of Mu Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc. is sponsoring a car wash/yard sale/bake sale from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Advanced Auto, 1280 N. Fraser St., Georgetown.

confederate Memorial day: Battery White Camp’s Confederate Memorial Day Service is at 11 a.m. The service will be held in the Old Baptist Cemetery on Church Street with an artillery salute and the laying of the wreath. The names of the Confederate Soldiers from Georgetown that were killed in the war will be read and a bell will be rung after their name is read. For more information call 546-3059.

Upward Soccer: Today is opening Evaluation Day for the fall season of Upward Soccer sponsored by First Baptist Church and Screven Baptist Church. Monday, May 19

Property owners: Members of the Waccamaw Neck Council of Property Owners Associations are invited to a meeting to be held at the Litchfield-By-The-Sea Beach House. Guest presenters will include vandidaters. There will be a 5:30p.m. meet and greet catered by Carefree Catering with the program at 6:30p.m.

transportation committee: The Georgetown County Transportation Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Georgetown County Council Chambers, 129 Screven St., Georgetown.

republican club: The regular monthly meeting of the Waccamaw Neck Republican Club will be held at 7 p.m. at the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library. The featured speaker will be Nancy Mace, candidate for U.S. Senate in the Republican primary.

Tuesday, May 20

Prayer Vigil: There will be a community prayer and liberation vigil at 7 p.m. for the kidnapped school girls of Bono, Nigeria at Bethel AME Church, 417 Broad St., Georgetown.

Mental health board: The regular meeting of The Waccamaw Center for Mental Health Governing Board is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, 501 Nelson St., Kingstree. For information call Mrs. Gawith at 843-347-5060, extension 226.

Waccamaw regional COG:The meeting location for the Workforce Investment Board meeting has been changed to The Bunnelle Center located at 8263B Ocean Highway, Pawleys Island.
