St. James’ boys golf team shot a 304 to win the Lower State title on Monday. Alan Crum led the Sharks with a 72, which also tied the junior for medalist honors. Mason Richardson’s 74 was good enough for fourth place individually. The Sharks other scores were: Karsten Kenly 77, Coleman Bess 81, and Charlie Wike 85. The Lady Sharks soccer team beat Hanahan 7-0 in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs on Monday. Haley Brandon had four goals, Bethany Goodrich had two, and Jenny Breeden added one.
The boys golf team won the Region VIII-AA title on Monday.
The Warriors 293 easily beat second-place Aynor (330). Both teams qualified for the state tournament.
Waccamaw scores: Jackson Cole 71, Davis Hogan 72, Will Canipe 73, Patrick Golden 77.
