Virginia Huggins Richbourg, age 89, of Florence died Friday, May 9, 2014, at her residence in Garden City after an illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Mon., May 12, 2014, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Mount Hope Cemetery.
The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was born in Dillon County, a daughter of the late Henry and Hattie Humphrey Huggins.
She graduated from the McLeod Infirmary School of Nursing and was a registered nurse with McLeod Hospital until her retirement.
Mrs. Richbourg was a member and long-time adult Sunday School teacher at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Florence.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dewey Merritt Richbourg; a brother, Ken Huggins; and a granddaughter, Katie Price.
Survivors include three daughters, Deidre (Craig) Richbourg-Price of Ocala, FL, Dawn (Rob) Riddle of Eagle, CO, and Merritt Denise Richbourg of Murrells Inlet; three brothers, Alton Huggins of Summerville, E. E. “Mike” Huggins of Titusville, FL, and Henry Huggins of Morehead City, NC; and four grandchildren, Jonathan (Canela) Riddle of San Francisco, CA, Jennifer Price of Atlanta, GA, Merritt (Thomas) Chandler and Jessica (Frederick) Ware, both of Nashville, TN.

John Wood Sr.
John B. Wood Sr., widower of Alyce Valaer Wood of Greenville and Pawleys Island died Saturday, May 10, 2014. Born in Winston-Salem, NC, he was a son of the late Charles Edward and Sarah Goodwin Wood.
Mr. Wood was a graduate of Guilford College, served in the United States Navy and a member of Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his son, John Beale Wood Jr.; daughter, Martha Wood McKissick and her husband, Ellison Smyth McKissick III; grandchildren, John Beale Wood III, William Harrison Wood, Elizabeth Blair Wood, all of Greenville, Ellison Smyth McKissick IV of Liberty, Hollis Valaer McKissick of Washington, D.C. and Caroline Parker McKissick of Greenville.
The family received friends at the home of Martha and Smyth McKissick from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tues., May 13, 2014.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wed., May 14, 2014 in All Saints Parish, Waccamaw Cemetery, Pawleys Island.
The family is very grateful to the staff and his many friends at Emeritus of Greenville, who took great care of him, in his time of need.
