On Wednesday, May 21, Perrone’s will be the featured restaurant for Dining for a Cause benefiting Miss Ruby’s Kids.

Located in the heart of Pawleys Island at 13302 Ocean Hwy., Perrone’s Restaurant and Bar serves world class cuisine with a Mediterranean focus.

Owner Steve Perrone is a self taught chef who has “fueled his culinary journey with passion, perseverance, and a profound understanding of flavors.”

It is a delight to be greeted by co-owner Eileen Perrone, who is the “face in the front” and who is also responsible for the upscale retro modern look of the restaurant. Eileen and Steve have created one of the area’s most unique and delicious dining experiences.

Open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Perrone’s features a varied selection of salads, signature sandwiches, and a delicious crab soup.

Main dishes include mussels, fish tacos, a scrumptious scallop soufflé, crab cakes, quesadilla and specialty dishes including curried chicken salad and a Thai shrimp salad.

Dinner is served from 5:30 until 10 p.m. Soups, salads and starters include Italian fondue, kimchi eggrolls, piquillo peppers, and several seafood dishes including calamari, shrimp, escargot and mussels.

Large plates feature the “catch of the day,” spaghetti with crab, Moroccan chicken, duck, pork, and several beef dishes.

Small plates are also available, and the children’s menu, for kids 10 and under, offers chicken fingers and fries or spaghetti.

The beer and wine selections are extensive and cocktails are also offered, which can be enjoyed in the relaxing bar area.

So, plan to dine at Perrone’s on May 21 to support Miss Ruby’s Kids. Reservations may be made by calling 843-235-9193.

Area restaurants have been generously participating in the “Dining For a Cause” program by offering a portion of their day’s proceeds to support the work of Miss Ruby’s Kids, an early childhood literacy program that was founded more than 10 years ago.
