Georgetown native serving in the Air Force

Technical Sergeant Anjeanette C. Blyden is the non commissioned officer in charge of the 1st Special Operations Medical Support Squadron Laboratory, Hurlburt Field, FL.

She supervises and provides oversight to 10 personnel, leads annual performance of more than 180 thousand procedures and directly maintains control of government assets valued at more than $233,500.

Blyden is a native of Georgetown and a 1993 graduate of Andrews High School. She enlisted in the Air Force in March 1994 and completed Phase 1 Medical Laboratory Apprentice Course at Sheppard Air Force Base, TX in August 1994.

She then completed Phase II Medical Laboratory Apprentice Training Course at Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Andrews AFB, MD in May 1995.

Throughout her career, Blyden has held various positions in every section of the medical laboratory arena, along with being afforded the opportunity to hold the position as 36th Medical Group NCOIC, Infection Control and AFSOC MAJCOM Laboratory Functional Manager.

Her assignments include bases in South Carolina, Japan, Guam, Germany and Florida. Blyden holds a Bachelorís Degree in Business Administration and CCAF associates Laboratory Technology.

Blydenís family include her parents Julian Blyden Sr., Woodrow and Waltina Nesbit; three brothers Adam, Julian II and Vanceto; nephew, Jordan and niece Addisyn. Her God Children are Jonathan Maurice Hamilton III, Talia-Rae Stein and Marcus Justin Watson.
