Earl E Bird and Nauti Girl nab top spots in Meatfish Slam

Provided The crew of the Nauti Girl clebrates after winning the dolphin prizes at the Georgetown Meatfish Slam.


Boaters and anglers enjoyed glorious weather for the sixth annual Georgetown Meatfish Slam.

The winners were:

Tuna: first, Earl E Bird 26.4 pounds; second, Suzanna Jules 22.2 pounds.

Dolphin: first, Nauti Girl A Team 21.0 pounds; second, Mirage 20.6 pounds.

Wahoo: first, Earl E Bird 30.6 pounds; second, Miss Dot 15.4 pounds.

Aggregate: first, Earl E Bird 70.4 pounds total, tuna 26.4 pounds, dolphin 13.4 pounds, wahoo 30.6 pounds; second, Nauti Girl B 48 pounds total, tuna 21.8 pounds, dolphin 14.0 pounds, wahoo 12.2 pounds.

Big dog aggregate: Earl E Bird 70.4 pounds.

50/50 Dolphin: Nauti Girl A 21.0 pounds.

Lady Angler: Earl E Bird, Katie Cook 26.4-pound tuna.

Youth Angler: Suzanna Jules, Hayden Lewis 14.8-pound dolphin.

Honorable Mention also to Hayden Lewis for the seasonís first billfish release with a nice sail.
