More than 200 participate in flunder tournament

The 13th annual Grand Strand Saltwater Anglers Association Flounder Tournament was held in Murrells Inlet on April 26.

Thousands of dollars in prize money was awarded thanks to the sponsorship of the 2nd Avenue Pier and the co-sponsorship of dozens of Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet area businesses.

An all-time record number 209 entrants registered to fish.

Bert Williams won the adult division with a 5.65-pound, 24-inch flounder. Charles Beverly was econd and Scott Wilkerson was third.

Cullen Gerace won the youth division with a 1.85-pound, 16-inch flounder. Ethan Brekke was second and Ava Heise was third.
