Lowcountry Shrimp Festival in McClellanville draws crowds

Clayton Stairs/South Strand News The crowd gathered along the water at Robert E. Ashley Marina in McClellanville Saturday at around 1:30 p.m. for the Blessing of the Fleet ceremony, a highlight of the Lowcountry Shrimp Festival. Shrimp boats decorated with flags and loaded with people waved as they passed the dock. Thousands of people attredned this year’s event, which benefits Archibauld Rutledge Academy and the CREECS Charter School.
