Suspect sought for armed robbery

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who is wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at 5190 Highway 17 Bypass – Swamp Fox Peddlers Market – in the Murrells Inlet Community of Georgetown


At approximately 11:30 p.m. on May 2, a black male suspect entered the business

through the unlocked front door. The suspect pointed what appeared to be a hand gun at the victim and demanded money.

The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash in an unknown direction of travel. The suspect is believed to have been driving a gold


No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6-feet tall, wearing a black or

blue bandana.

Anyone who can identify the suspect or has any information about the robbery is urged to call the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at 843-546-5101.
