Clemson football gets new voice on radio

Don Munson will step into a new role calling play-by-play for Clemson football on the school’s official radio network starting this fall, the university announced this week. He replaces WSPA sports director Pete Yanity, who had held that role for the past 11 seasons.

Munson is currently Clemson’s director of Creative Media Services, heavily involved with social media functions, and has been the Tigers’ baseball play-by-play announcer along with contributing other assorted radio duties.

Yanity will not continue calling basketball games; the school did not say who would replace him courtside on the hardwood.

Clemson did not offer explanation for the switch.
