An investigative sketch of what the suspect is believed to look like.

The Horry County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is looking to identify a suspect involved in a sexual assault late last week.

On April 25, 2014, Officers with the Horry County Police Department responded to a report of a sexual assault. Upon their arrival, they learned that a white male suspect unlawfully entered the home of a woman in the Socastee area of Horry County and attacked her. The suspect did force himself on the woman sexually against her will. After the attack, the suspect fled the home.

The victim believes that the suspect did come to the house approximately two weeks earlier posing as a repairman there to fix something, but did not come into the house after the victim questioned the sincerity of his presence.

The case is now under investigation with Detectives of the Horry County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit.

A description has been given of the suspect as a white male approximately 5ft. 10in. and weighing approximately 220 pounds with gray hair. He is approximately 40-5- years of age. The suspect was operating a white truck (unknown make or model) with paper tags.

Detectives are asking anyone with information leading to the identity of the suspect to contact them at 915-TIPS. You can remain anonymous.
