Autism seminar set for May 2

Autism & You, a free seminar designed for families and professionals who work with autistic children and adults, is set for Friday, May 2, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

The daylong event gets under way at 8:30 a.m. with registration. The program will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

All events will take place in the GMH Education Center behind the hospital, which is located at 606 Black River Road.

Nationally known expert Cindy Schneider will speak. She will be joined by Marcella Ridley, founder of Winston’s Wish Foundation and co-author of Ryan’s Law. Other speakers include representatives from NextStep, the S.C. Department of Disabilities and Special Needs and the S.C. Interventionists.
