Murrells Inlet Community Center to open Thursday

  • Wednesday, April 30, 2014

Anita Crone/For South Strand News The community will get its first look at the Murrells Inlet Community Center this Thursday at a 5:30 p.m. ribbon cutting. An open house will follow. The 7,700-square-foot building was constructed near the same site where the old facility stood until it was demolished last year. Coming back to its home is the Murrells Inlet Community Theater, which will have its first performance there this fall, in the main 3,000-square foot room that features a stage and retractable, graduated seating. Other improvements include a catering kitchen and three smaller rooms that can house classes. A sheriff’s substation will remain on the site.
