The annual Miss Ruby’s Kids Garden Party is Sunday, May 4 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at Kimbels at Wachesaw Plantation.

The festivities will include a silent and live auction featuring a wide array of tempting items.

Guests will enjoy strolling the bluff overlooking the Waccamaw River while listening to Live Jazz by the Hi Lo Duo and sampling heavy hors d’oeuvres created by Wachesaw Plantation. Beer, wine and other beverages will be served also.

Bids may be placed on exciting and distinctive auction items such as a guided inshore saltwater fishing trip for red fish, flounder, sea trout, sharks, and tarpon with Captain Jay Nelson; the use of a four-bedroom home in Sapphire Valley, NC near Fairfield Lake and Cashiers that has a wraparound porch and sleeps 10-12; a one day pass for four to Disney World; art work; and many more offerings.

Miss Ruby’s Kids is a unique early childhood literacy program that begins working with two and three-year-old children and parents/caregivers in their homes to inspire a passion for learning, and continues to support the children, when they reach school age, through the voluntary education mentor program.
