Fannie G. Cuttino, age 103, of Georgetown passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 6882 Choppee Road in Georgetown.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
Rhue’s Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
Walter Henry Mercer, age 95, widower of Evelyn Wiggins Mercer, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Vibra Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.
Born on Jan. 22, 1919, in Andrews, he was a son of the late John Clarence Mercer and the late Lillian Mercer Mercer.
Mr. Mercer was a charter member of Wayne United Methodist Church for 60 years, served as a trustee, was a member of the Curtis Bell Sunday School Class and was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II.
He was a local contractor having built many houses in the Georgetown area for more than 40 years.
He enjoyed cooking and fishing.
Survivors include five children, Larry Mercer of Georgetown, Ronald Mercer of Georgetown, Glenn Mercer (Kathy) of Barrington, Ill., Julia Sanderson (James) of Georgetown and Mark Mercer (Amber) of Georgetown; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carey Mercer (Elaine) of Georgetown and Bobo Mercer (Gloria) of Georgetown; one sister, Gail Wilson of Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Wayne United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Chamblee officiating.
Burial will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Graham Funeral Home.

Laura Nelson Slade, age 98, of Georgetown died on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Funeral services for Mrs. Slade will held at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Bethel A.M. E. Church, conducted by Dr. M. Charmain Ragin.
Burial will follow at Bethel’s Cemetery.
The remains will lie in state in the sanctuary of the church on Monday from noon until the time of service.
Mrs. Slade was born on Jan. 1, 1916 in Georgetown, a daughter of Joe Nelson and Mrs. Laura Alston Nelson.
She was educated in the public schools of Georgetown County.
Having migrated to New York City, she worked in housekeeping in the City of New York’s court system and later at Hunter College.
She was married to Robert Slade. Her parents, husband, and sister, Agnes King, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her niece, Muriel King, of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a nephew, Arthur Bruce King of Columbia, S.C.
