Chapin, S.C., mystery writer C. Hope Clark, who created the Carolina Slade series, will be the speaker on April 22 at the Surfside Beach Library.
Set in South Carolina’s Lowcountry, the books feature Slade, a county manager for the Department of Agriculture. Chapin writes what she knows, because she graduated from Clemson with a degree in agriculture and her husband had 30 years of federal law enforcement.
Chapin also manages “FundsforWriters.com which has been recognized by Writer’s Digest as one of 101 Best Web Sites for Writers for a dozen years.
The free program starts at 3 p.m. with a talk by the author, followed by a question-and-answer session and a book signing. Refreshments will be served.
