The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is asking for help from the public in locating whoever is responsible for shooting a woman at a Sampit club early Saturday.
Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertspn says it happened at about 4 a.m. at the Yield Club located at 1411 Saints Delight Road.
The initial call indicated it happened at the Sugar Shack club.
According to Cuthbertson, deputies met the female victim at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital emergency room.
“The victim and a friend heard several males arguing while they were entering their vehicle to leave the establishment. The victim felt a burning sensation and realized she was shot,” Cuthbertson said.
Other reports indicated the woman - whose name has not been released - was take from the scene in a personal vehicle but met an ambulance at an EMS station on Highway 521.
She had been shot in the right side. At first, EMS workers were unsure if it was a gunshot because they did not see an exit wound. When she arrived at the hospital it was confirmed the injury was from a gunshot.
