Lowcountry Prep hosting AAU basketball tournament

If this weekend’s NCAA Final Four action has whetted your appetite for basketball, Lowcountry Prep School is hosting an AAU basketball tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

Participating 11th and 12th grade teams are: PI Heat from Pawleys Island, CFBA, Coastal Pirates Purple, NMB Elite, High Tide Hoops and Coastal Pirates.

Participating 10th grade teams are: SC Gators 9th, Socastee Gunner and Beaufort Team Power.

Saturday’s schedule is: 9 a.m., PI Heat vs. Coastal Pirates Purple; 10:15 a.m., SC Gators 9th vs. Socastee Gunner; 11:30 a.m., PI Heat vs. CFBA; 12:45 p.m., High Tide Hoops vs. Coastal Pirates; 2 p.m., Socastee Gunner vs. Beaufort Team Power; 3:15 p.m., CFBA vs. Coastal Pirates Purple; 4:30 p.m., Coastal Pirates vs. NMB Elite; 5:45 p.m., SC Gators 9th vs. Beaufort Team Power; 7 p.m., NMB Elite vs. High Tide Hoops.

The teams will be seeded after Saturday’s play for a championship round on Sunday. Pool games will be played on Sunday at 9, 10:15 and 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. The 10th-grade championship will be at 2 p.m., and the 11th and 12th grade championship will be at 3:15 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students on Saturday; and $8 for adults and $7 for students on Sunday.

Two-day passes are $16 for adults and $13 for students.

Lowcountry Prep School is located at 300 Blue Stem Drive in Pawleys Island.
