The creek is open Sunday for the 23rd annual Spring Tide, Murrells Inlet 2020’s yearly fight against litter, old fishing line and whatever else might have fallen into the creek during the winter or remains on Inlet streets.
The day’s events get underway with an invocation at 9:45 a.m. at Morse Park Landing, next to the Hot Fish Club. The real work begins at 10, with volunteers getting their work assignments – by land or by water. At 1 p.m., volunteers are invited back to the Hot Fish Club to sample chowders from 15 area restaurants, hear live music and claim bragging rights for refuse collection.
Participants should dress appropriately and bring their own bug spray — just in case — as well as gloves.
