Rabies clinics offered during month of April

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and Georgetown County veterinarians have joined forces to offer reduced-cost rabies clinics during April to vaccinate cats, dogs, and ferrets.

Prices may vary by clinic but are not to exceed $10 per pet.

Dogs must be on a leash and cats and ferrets must be in a box or carrier. State law requires that all dogs, cats, and ferrets that have reached four months of age have a current rabies vaccination in accordance with the S.C. Rabies Control Act.

Clinic schedule:

April 7: Harborwalk Vet Hospital, 1001 Front St., Georgetown 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

St. Frances Animal Care Center, 125 N. Ridge St., Georgetown, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

April 9: St. Frances Animal Care Center, 125 N. Ridge St., Georgetown, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

April 12: Pawleys Veterinary Hosptial, 9722 Ocean Highway, 9 to 11 a.m.

Westview Animal Hospital will be at Georgetown Tractor Supply parking lot, 9:30 to 11 a.m.

April 14: Harborwalk Vet Hospital, 1001 Front St., Georgetown, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

St. Frances Animal Care Center, 125 N. Ridge St., Georgetown, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

April 16: St. Frances Animal Care Center, 125 N. Ridge St., Georgetown, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

April 19: Westview Animal Hospital will be at the Andrews Food Lion parking lot from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

April 21: Harborwalk Vet Hospital, 1001 Front St., Georgetown, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

St. Frances Animal Care Center, 125 N. Ridge St., Georgetown, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

April 23: St. Frances Animal Care Center, 125 N. Ridge St., Georgetown, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

April 28: Harborwalk Vet Hospital, 1001 Front St., Georgetown, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

St. Frances Animal Care Center, 125 N. Ridge St., Georgetown, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

April 30: St. Frances Animal Care Center, 125 N. Ridge St., Georgetown, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Upon vaccination, the pet should wear the serially numbered rabies tag, provided by the veterinarian, around its neck. The licensed veterinarian will also provide a certificate of vaccination.
