Georgetown County Deputy Coroner Chase Ridgeway says an autopsy conducted on 12-year-old Dave Coombs showed he died of smoke inhalation early Saturday. He said there were "no signs of trauma" but "the cause of death is pending right now until further test results come in which could be several weeks." Ridgeway said nothing should be read into the fact that more tests are being conducted. He said that is common at the Medical University of South Carolina where they "cover all the bases. He also said he is "absolutely sure" no criminal act led to Coombs' death. The cause of the fire still has not been released. The case is still being investigated by the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
