Columbia – Dr. Gloria Bromell Tinubu of Conway, has filed paperwork to become a candidate for the 7th Congressional District seat. Dr. Tinubu was also the Democratic nominee in 2012.
“I’m excited and proud to be filing for this office. It’s also exciting to be doing this on ‘Day in Blue’’ here in Columbia, being surrounded and having the support of so many outstanding women from across our great state.”
“I am running again because like many of us, I hoped that Rep. Rice would have gone to Washington and brought jobs and infrastructure to the 7th District, but unfortunately that has not happened. Over the next 8 months, Rep. Rice is going to be held responsible for everything he has done and better yet, refused to do over the last 18 months. And I look forward to talking with residents and business owners across the district and letting them know that I am going to fight every day to make sure our citizens have good paying jobs, that our children have a world class education, and everyone has the opportunity to live the American Dream.”
