Georgetown police are looking for a man they say is responsible for a shooting that occurred overnight Saturday.
Police Capt. Nelson Brown says warrants have been signed for 21-year-old Kwamane Edward Smith of 259 McKenzie Circle, Pawley's Island. He is being charged with Attempted Murder and Kidnapping.
The victim, 39-year-old Mark Ellis,  has undergone surgery and is in stable condition at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
He was reportedly shot in the abdomen at a home on Park Street in Bayview at abut 12:30 a.m. Sunday. A SWAT team responded because it was believed Smith was barricaded in the home but it was later discovered he was not inside.
The motive for the shooting is believed to be drug related, Brown said.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of Smith is being asked to notify their local law enforcement agency or call 911. Smith should be considered armed and dangerous.
