Gullah fund raiser: The Gullah Culture Committee of Dickerson AME Church is sponsoring a two day event March 21 and 22 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Yard sale, gumbo stew, and thrift shop sale. The church is located at 614 Henry St., corner of Merriman Road and Bourne St. in Georgetown.

Merchant Marines: Veterans of the Merchant Marines and all other services are invited to a meeting at the Veteran’s Café. The Café is in the Plaza at the back gate intersection of Bypass 17 and Route 707 – right behind the CVS drug store. Meet at noon for lunch and fellowship. The meeting is called to order at 1 p.m.. The guest speaker will be Rick Kaplan, president of the Canine Angels. Rick trains rescue dogs and gives them free to disabled veterans to help them with the challenges they face in their life. Music Preview Day: At 10:30 a.m., First Baptist Church of Georgetown is making hundreds of used anthems, musicals, cantatas, collections, and even hymnals (including copies of the 1975 Baptist Hymnal) available to neighboring churches and individuals. Anyone who is interested in previewing a variety of music ranging from gospel to traditional to classical for adult, youth, and children’s choirs is invited to come to the church, located at 219 Cleland St. (the corner of Highmarket and Cleland Streets) to make selection. Please park in the main parking lot and use the double-door entrance underneath the canopy and come to the choir room. VFW DINNER: VFW Post 6444, its Ladies Auxiliary and guests will have dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Adults, $7; children 6 to 12, $3; and under 5 years of age, free. Greater Bible Way church: The Greater Bible Way Church of Georgetown, 1518 Hawkins St., will be having a Bible class at 7 p.m.

Woman’s republican club: The Woman’s Republican Club will meet at noon at Applewood’s House of Pancakes in Litchfield. Orangeburg attorney and U.S. Army veteran Bill Connor – who lost the 2010 Republican runoff for lieutenant governor to Ken Ard – has filed to run against U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham in next June’s Republican primary, according to federal election documents will be the guest speaker.

Board of Disabilities and Special Needs: The regular board of directors meeting of the Georgetown County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs will be held at 5 p.m. at 95 Academy Ave, Georgetown.
