Two Johnsonville men have been arrested, charged with a burglary at Deep Grocery Convenience Store near the Six Mile Crossing.
Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson said 22-year-old Raquon Bileek Gilliyard and John Dee Linen, 23 are charged with the burglary that occurred at about 1:45 a.m. Monday.
Deputies were conducting routine patrol in the Six Mile area when they saw a green
Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in a wooded area near the store, Cuthbertson said.
The officers saw a man enter the vehicle and pull onto the highway heading west in the direction of Andrews.
“Simultaneously, a call from a concerned citizen alerted dispatch to a broken glass door at Deep Grocery..and the possibility of a Jeep Grand Cherokee being involved. Deputies activated their blue lights on the suspect vehicle. A vehicle pursuit ensued into the city limits of Hemingway where the pursuit was discontinued due to weather conditions,” said Cuthbertson.
She said after reviewing the evidence, investigators arrested Gilliyard and Linen and charged each of them with one count of Second Degree Burglary.
