Recently the student senate from Waccamaw Intermediate School delivered seven boxes of toys, stuffed animals, craft supplies, coloring pages, crayons, and books to the MUSC Children’s Hospital in Charleston. The collections were made in honor of Ellie Stewart, who was successfully treated at MUSC children’s Hospital two years ago. Ellie is the granddaughter of WIS teacher, Jeanette Stewart. The students and several local banks worked together to collect items that could be used to entertain young patients during their stay at the hospital. The items were much appreciated by the nurses at the MUSC Children’s Hospital.
