Four file for three County Council seats Monday

  • Monday, March 17, 2014

Monday was the first day of filing for this year's elections and for Georgetown County offices. Two people filed for the Georgetown County Council District 7 seat.
Incumbent Johnny Morant filed for reelection as a Democrat. Morant is the County Council chairman.
Also filing for the seat was former Georgetown County School Board member Ben Grate of Plantersville.
This means there will be a Democrat primary for that seat in June.
Also filing Monday was newcomer Republican John Thomas for Georgetown County Council District 1 seat and incumbent Republican Bob Anderson for the County Council District 6 seat.
We will keep you updated on filings as they take place during the next two weeks.
