Honoring legends of our time

Eight community leaders and educators have all been nominated and named this year’s recipients of the “Humanitarian Award 2014.”

They are: David Almonte, Paul Gardner, Patti Hammel, Olivia Huggins, Leonard Nelson, Jerome Rogers, Karen Wilson and Dr. Diane Wingate.

The Georgetown High School Gospel Choir will honor these “Legends of Our Time, at Gospel Extravaganza 2014 on March 22 at 6 p.m. at the Georgetown High School Gymnasium. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

All checks should be made out to Georgetown High School/ (GHS) Gospel Choir. This event includes the GHS High School Workshop Gospel Choir in concert along with other special invited guests.

You may purchase tickets by contacting Rev. Coakley at 803-760-3364.

Proceeds will help the GHS Gospel Choir spread the “Good News” through song to the nation during its spring tour.
