MarshWalk restaurants host Marshi Gras celebration

Anita Crone/For Inlet Outlook Louis and Marie added a touch of royalty to the event.

Even a damp Tuesday evening could not keep the good times from rolling through the MarshWalk restaurants on Fat Tuesday.

Four competitors walked away with cash and prizes, impressing a panel of judges with their attire.

The Marshi Go-go Couple claimed the top award, followed by the Lights of Marshi Gras in second place; the Marshi Mohawk in third and Louis and Marie with an honorable mention.

For the fourth consecutive year, the restaurants sponsored the event, which included a jazz band and a parade through each restaurant along the Marsh Walk, starting at Wicked Tuna and ending up at Bovines.

“It will be interesting,” said Christine Palmer before the event, attired more for June than March.

“But I have my scarf in case it gets cold,” she laughed.
